Cocoa Banana Smoothie

Okay I’ll admit this Cocoa Banana Smoothie isn’t the prettiest, but it is my absolute favorite smoothie 🤣! It may be green, but I promise it tastes like a chocolate milkshake…yum! This is great for breakfast or for an afternoon snack.
This smoothie has oats, flax seed, spinach, bananas, dates and non-dairy milk so it’s loaded with all the good stuff.
One smoothie has 11g protein, 13g fiber, over 200% of recommended daily amount of vitamin A, healthy fats and no added sugars. The list of nutritional benefits goes on! When I eat this smoothie and variations of it for breakfast it always keep me full until lunch and gives a boost of energy. I no longer crave a morning coffee after I drink this too!
Serves 1
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups Spinach
- 12 oz Unsweetened Non-Dairy Milk, vanilla flavor
- 1 medium ripe banana (I suggest using a fresh, non-frozen banana. The riper the banana, the sweeter the smoothie)
- 1 tbsp Flax Seed, Ground
- 1 Date
- 1.5 tbsp Cocoa Powder
- 1/3 cup Rolled Oats
- ~6 ice cubes
Directions
- Place all ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth. The longer you blend, the smoother the oats will be. I prefer to leave them slightly intact for more texture in the smoothie, but that is up to you!
- NOTE: I use a ninja blender that has a single serve 16 oz blender cup attachment. I highly recommend it! Everything will blend very smoothly together.
Try it out a let me know what you think!
